A bit of bling!!

Well, I just couldn't help myself, could I !! Being home gets a it boring after a while, so I thought I would do another entry for Keesh's sketch challenge below before I head back to work tomorrow.
I have turned the sketch on it's side to create my page. I have used retired DS paper, chocolate chip and purely pomegranate card stock. Chocolate chip ribbon, a jumbo eyelet & cropodile, bling and rub ons.

I used a compass to draw the 6in' circle before it was cut out. The small corner punch was used to create the scallop effect around the circle. The scallop, circle and slit punches were also used. The slit punch has been used for the jumbo eyelet as an anchor for a photo. I used foam dots to mat the circle and placed bling around one side to draw attention to the photo, that is when I get around to finding the right one.

A large gem brad was attached to the ribbon and closed off before I stuck the ribbon down. I have always wanted to use rub ons on ribbon and thought I would give it a try.

Here is a close up to show some more of the detail on my page. As I am not really a photographer, I find it hard to get the right angles and let's face it my camera is only a cheapie that I have had for a few years now. Must invest in a good quality one before convention, hey.

So until next time

Keesh's Challenge # 6

Back again for another one of Keesh's challenges. They are a little bit addictive and I am really enjoying these. Your should really head over to Keesh's place http://www.makeeshabyl.com.au/index.php/2009/03/20/inkspirations-sketch-challenge-6/ and check out the other masterpieces from other follow bloggers for some inspiration. So here is the challenge.
And this is my attempt

A close up of the flower I created

Had better go and get some rest, as ordered by the doctor. I have been sick lately and was discharged from hospital yesterday. Nothing too serious, just a gall bladder infection. So until next time.....

Another Challenge

Hello, back again with another challenge......

I love the colours for this challenge.

I have used the paisley background stamp for this card. I inked up the stamp and then added colour over the top of the ink with the markers. Once I was happy with the areas that I coloured, I lightly sprayed the stamp with water and stamped up. When dry I tore one third off and attached to the card.

Some wide ribbon was used to create the layered bow. The left over card stock from the background stamp was attached to the flap of an envelope and then I scalloped the edge to pretty up.

Recipe: wide certainly celery ribbon; whisper white & not quite navy card stock; river rock ink pad, not quiet navy & certainly celery markers; for you sediment & paisley background stamp.

Guest what I received yesterday? The new catalogues that will be available very soon - April 1. Talk about drool! I wish I could show you guys. There are so many new products and the new stamps are all pre-cut hooray no more cutting.

The new embellishments are to die for, new brads & buttons will be on my wish list for sure. Anyway, until next time.....

Inkspirations colour challenge # 5

I have had a lot of fun completing this challenge. When I make cards I like to also stamp up an envelope so that I am not suddenly looking for an envelope and realise that I have already used them all. So my first pic is of the envelope closed....

I have used a crimper for the bottom 3/4 of the envelope after I stamped on it in real red & blue bayou. The top third has been inked over gently with Soft Sky, scalloped cut edge and some real red ribbon....

The whisper white card stock was stamped in real red & blue bayou, before the card stock was crimped. I use textured soft sky card stock for the base of the card, and added blue bayou card, real red ribbon, hodge podge & gingham red ribbon.....

This pic shows the co-ordinating set together. I was so happy with how they turned out.....

Lastly a close up of the envelope open....
So until next time,

Blog Candy!!!! Anyone....

Well it looks like Kimmy & Odette will be getting the candy, unless I get some more entries before this Saturday. I don't think they will mind at all....

Maybe, I should mention that I am happy to post within Australia & Worldwide.......

These kits come with a flat board canvas (a little smaller than an A4 piece of paper) that you get to mount on to and then hang your wall or stand on an easel around your home for everyone to see your handy work (I won't tell them that you got it from me, promise). You also get everything that you see on the canvas already cut to size and stamped out for you to attach to your page. You will only have to cut out your title that I can change for you if you do not want friends or family etc.... The ribbon and hodgepodge also comes with this kit. What a bargin! You may need some crystal effect if you would like to make your 'F' have more dimension like mine.

So lets make my first blog candy a bit more fun and leave some good comments on my previous post to be in the draw to win....It's free.....give it a go..... please!!!!!
